Salem, MA
October in Salem, Massachusetts is a month dedicated to Halloween festivities. There are incalculable surprises waiting throughout the historic streets. This project involved created a bit of magic that could be performed entirely over the phone and then hanging flyers around the city with nothing more than a phone number. Those curious souls who called the number experienced a Salem-themed magic trick as they strolled the streets.

An experiment in show creation. So many magic shows are demonstrations of tricks with nothing connecting them. This project began as a monthly performance of an entirely new evening show every month. The shows were heavily themed (chosen by the audience) and pushed the performer to establish a process for creation as well as a wealth of new material.
Six shows were performed in person before the pandemic began. The subsequent five shows were presented virtually during the pandemic. The final performance will take place once we’re able to gather safely indoors once more for some in-person magic!
